    • Payment or invoicing providers (e.g., your bank, card processor, or accounting tools).

    • Public sources (e.g., business directories, publicly available social media profiles).

We collect personal information only as reasonable and necessary to provide and improve our services.

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, schedule, deliver, and bill for our services (e.g., bin rentals, demolition, excavation, deliveries).

Our legal basis & your consent

We generally rely on your consent to collect, use, and disclose personal information. You can withdraw consent at any time (subject to legal or contractual restrictions) by contacting us. We may also collect/use/disclose personal information without consent where permitted or required by law (e.g., to investigate fraud, collect a debt, or comply with a court order).

Cookies & similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • keep you signed in and remember preferences;

  • help protect the Site from abuse; and

  • understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. If you disable cookies, certain features of the Site may not function properly.

WordPress‑related cookies

  • If you leave a comment on our Site, you may opt‑in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies for your convenience; these typically last for one year.

  • If you visit a login page, a temporary cookie may be set to check if your browser accepts cookies and is discarded when you close your browser.

  • When you log in, several cookies save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies typically last for two days and screen options for one year. Selecting “Remember Me” extends login persistence. Logging out removes login cookies.

  • If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie may be saved with the post ID of the article; it usually expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this Site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, posts). Embedded content behaves as if you visited the other website directly and may allow those sites to collect data about you, use cookies, embed third‑party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content.

Analytics & advertising

We may use analytics and advertising technologies (for example, Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, Meta/Facebook/Instagram Pixel, and similar tools) to understand Site usage and measure/serve ads. These tools may set cookies or collect identifiers and usage data. You can usually manage ad personalization in your account settings with those platforms and via your browser/device preferences.

If you prefer not to be tracked for analytics/advertising, you can: (i) adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies; and (ii) use the privacy settings offered by Google, Meta, and other platforms. Note that opting out may affect your experience.

Forms, email & SMS marketing

When you submit a form or request a quote, we use your information to respond and provide services. If you opt in to receive marketing communications (email and/or SMS), we will send you news, promotions, service tips, reminders, and requests for reviews. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in emails or by replying STOP to SMS (where applicable) or by contacting us.

Comments & media

  • Comments. When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string (hash) from your email may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. After approval of your comment, your profile picture may be visible publicly in the context of your comment.

  • Media. If you upload images to the Site, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the Site can download and extract location data from images on the Site.

Payments & accounting

If you pay online or through an invoice link, your payment may be processed by a third‑party payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers. We retain transaction records (e.g., payer name, amount, invoice details) for accounting, tax, and auditing purposes.

When we share personal information

We share personal information only as reasonably necessary to provide our services and operate our business, including with:

  • Service providers/Processors that help us run our business (e.g., website hosting, form and marketing platforms, email/SMS providers, customer support tools, analytics and advertising partners, accounting and payment processors).

  • Business operations partners (e.g., disposal sites, subcontractors, or delivery partners) to complete work you request.

  • Law enforcement and legal recipients when required or permitted by law (e.g., to protect our rights, safety, or property, to collect a debt, or in response to lawful requests).

Some of these recipients may be located outside of Canada (e.g., in the United States). As a result, personal information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions with different privacy laws than Canada. We require our service providers to protect personal information and use it only to provide services to us.

Retention

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy or as required by law. For example, transaction and invoice records are typically retained for up to 7 years to meet tax and accounting obligations. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.

Safeguards

We use reasonable physical, organizational, and technical measures designed to protect personal information in our custody and control, including limiting access to those who need it for their job functions, using secure networks, and applying good security practices for our Site and systems. However, no method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights & choices

Subject to limited exceptions, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;

  • Correct inaccuracies or update your information;

  • Withdraw consent to our use of your information (where consent is the basis); and

  • Complain to a privacy regulator if you are not satisfied with our response.

To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Who we are. We may require verification of your identity before fulfilling your request.

Regulator contact (Canada): Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) — see www.priv.gc.ca for contact options.

Children’s privacy

Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Do Not Track

Your browser may offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting. Because there is no industry consensus on how to respond to DNT signals, our Site does not currently respond to them. We will update this Policy if that changes.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.

Where your data is sent

  • Registered users (if applicable): we store the personal information in user profiles. Users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except username). Site administrators can also see and edit that information.

  • Forms and leads: retained for as long as needed to provide services and for record‑keeping, then securely deleted or anonymized.

If you have an account on this Site or have left comments or submitted forms, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided.
